Got out on the River this morning for a spot of piking. Roving tactics were the order of the day, spending 20 minutes in each likely looking swim. I found a deep hole under a tree on the near bank and my Roach deadbait was taken within minutes. I struck into mid-air! Swung another roach into position and the greedy 9lber took again! It was full of energy, which makes a nice change from the usual slow ponderous pike of winter. I needed this after 3 recent blanks!
